John Ralph Cristobal Campo or known as “John Campo” was born in a musical family in 1974. At the age of seven, he started studying trumpet. He studied music at University of Santo Thomasz Conservatory of Music Philippines and won 1st prize at the National Music Competition for Young Artist (NMCYA). From 1993-9, John Campo was the soloist, principal trumpet and assistant conductor of the Philippine Air for Band. In 2005, he moved to Hong Kong and worked as the lead trumpet player in HK Disneyland until 2008. He has played lead trumpet with many famous international and canto-pop artists and groups, such as The Four Tops, Kevin Spacey, Michael Winslow (USA), Asian-Chinese HK artist like Eric Moo, Teresa Carpio, Louis Castro, Johnny Ip, Jackie Cheung, Rubber Band, Kolor, Ivana Wong, Jan Lamb, Maria Cordero, Joseph Koo, Pricilla Chan and many more.
John Campo is now conducting and instructing school band and orchestra such as YMCA CC Tung Chung, Discovery College, German Swiss International School and giving private lessons. He is also the brass instructor of Parsons Wind Orchestra and Advance Diploma teacher for Trumpet at Parsons Music Company.
John Campo is now one of the the top all around trumpet in Hong Kong for session recording and big musical shows here and abroad.
